Wrapping up warm for Blogcademy...

It seemed like a long way off when I booked it towards the end of last year. But as ever time has tricked me and here I am on the eve of "getting schooled" at Blogcademy tomorrow. Two days of focusing on all things bloggy: branding, strategy, personality and, most scarily for me, photo taking (I am the. worst. photo taker. ever.) It's all happening at Curtain Studios in funky old Shoreditch, taught by three fabulous bloggers who are all way too cool for school - Rock n Roll Bride, Gala Darling and Nubby Twiglet.

Happy Homespun New Year!

Having just emerged from the usual 2 weeks of over eating, over spending and over indulgence I thought it high time I said hello and happy new year to my lovely readers. Hope you had fabulously cheery Christmases and New Years and are now thinking about your new year of crafting, wedding planning, treat making or recipe trying!

It's going to be a crazy year for this Homespun Honey, perhaps even topping 2012 in sheer emotion, exhaustion and life changing-ness. Hubs and I are expecting the ultimate in homespun projects at the start of May... our first baby! We are over the moon and I am particularly excited about conjuring up some homemade bits and bobs for the nursery over the next few months. Need to get a move on actually...

I'm hoping this little blog will grow and start to include contributions and ideas from you guys so please get in touch or leave me a comment with any wise words or thoughts on improving things. I'm massively excited and a wee bit terrified to be attending The Blogcademy in a few weeks time - run by three of the brightest and most fabulous blogging ladies around - will be writing a full report when it's all over.

On top of all that we're hoping to move house in the next few months so stay tuned for lots of new home craftiness and inspiration.

Hello and welcome to my fledgling blog. I hope we will be spending more time together, all be it virtually, as this blog progresses so thought it only polite to introduce myself. My name's Bex and I'm a makeaholic.

I love to make things - dinners, scarfs, music, tea time treats, decorations, skirts, gifts, curtains... you get the idea. I have spent the past year producing all sorts of things for my own wedding and have been further bitten by the making bug in the process. During the preparations and after the day itself I've had quite a few people asking about my experiences and wanting to know if they can borrow items I made. This made me think there could be more people out there interested in such things and so I've made the step from avid blog reader to blogger... who knows how it will go?!
